Throughout its 75-year history, Schomp Automotive has taken a family- and community-first approach to philanthropy. Fighting childhood cancer, helping our veterans, and finding “forever” homes for our four-legged friends are just a few of the many efforts we take to foster a positive impact beyond our brick and mortar. In 2015, Schomp donated more than $154,000 and, through our partnerships, raised a combined $1,000,000+ for causes throughout our community.
For nearly 25 years, Schomp Honda has worked hand-in-hand with The Children’s Hospital Colorado to fund programs for those in need. Our annual Children’s Hospital sale donates proceeds from every new and pre-owned vehicle purchase, as well as individual contributions from employees, partners, and the community. In 2015, more than $25,000 was donated to the hospital’s burn camp, a remarkable program which improves the lives of burn-injured children through the use of enriched curriculum and path of adventure in a safe environment.
Now in its 29th year, the Denver Polo Classic Presented by Schomp BMW is a three-day event which raises more than $500,000 each year for at-risk youth in our area. Our longstanding partnership with the Denver Active 20/30 organization makes the annual event possible, drawing thousands of guests to Littleton’s Polo Reserve for a weekend of food, wine, sport, and philanthropy.
Since 2009, the Humane Society of the South Platte Valley has projected its unique philosophy of enrichment, socialization and rehabilitation upon every animal which has crossed its doorstep. Beyond just local needs, they take in animals from other shelters statewide, many of which lack the resources to properly care for higher volumes or certain breeds. In 2015, Schomp Honda donated the “Pup Truck,” a mobile adoption unit which has helped countless animals find their “forever” homes through farmer’s markets, festivals, and other high-exposure events.
Love Hope Strength, the world’s leading rock-and-roll cancer foundation, promotes innovative, music-related outreach and awareness programs for leukemia and cancer sufferers and survivors, as well as their respective families. With Schomp MINI’s help, they have contributed over 119,000 registrations to the International Bone Marrow Registry, an effort which thus far has resulted in securing more than 2,100 potentially life-saving matches.
Near and dear to our own community, the Littleton Public Schools (LPS) Foundation brings together parents, businesspeople, educators, and community leaders into a single, unified community of support for their school system. Fostering a years-long involvement with the LPS, Schomp Automotive has been able to give back to not just our community, but also our children and future leaders.
The Denver Post’s Underground Music Showcase (UMS) celebrated its 15th year in 2015. The four-day festival, featuring 400 bands and 20 venues, was created by former Denver Post Writer John Moore as a way to showcase local bands who weren’t getting the attention they deserve. MINI’s focus on the cultural and social aspects of music, dating back to the 1950s, makes this partnership an ideal match.
Bringing the focus to our own neighborhood, Schomp BMW continues its enriching partnership with the Highlands Ranch Community Association (HRCA). HRCA provides community leadership, volunteer opportunities and quality of life in our hometown. Always creative and inventive, the Schomp Automotive staff infuses fun and excitement into events such as the July 4th Parade and the Hometown Holiday celebration.
Celebrating their 100th anniversary this year, the Emily Griffith Opportunity School has assisted more than 1.6 million students with charting a quality, affordable path to higher education and career success. Living by Ms. Griffith’s original motto, “For all who wish to learn,” they welcome all people regardless of age, race or education level, who wish to expand their horizons. Schomp Automotive is proud of this partnership, and recently donated a three-year lease of a new MINI Countryman to the school’s alumni outreach program.
Already a fixture in Colorado, Burton Snowboards represent an offering synonymous with MINI’s active and outdoorsy lifestyle. In 1977, Jake Burton Carpenter founded Burton Snowboards out of his Vermont barn. Since then, Burton has fueled the growth of snowboarding worldwide through its groundbreaking product lines, its team of top snowboarders and its grassroots efforts to get the sport accepted at resorts.
The Denver Active 20-30 Foundation holds numerous fundraising events throughout the year including the Schomp BMW Polo Classic, which in 2016 will be celebrating its 29th anniversary. Beginning on June 24th, the event showcases three days of unmatched entertainment, sports, food and drink with all proceeds benefitting local childrens’ charities. In 2015, the Denver Active 20-30 Foundation raised more than $1 million for local children in need.
Sports nutrition company MusclePharm is on a quest is to create a superior line of formulated, tested and certified sports nutrition products that are safe and free of banned substances. Recently, Schomp Automotive capitalized on the partnership by providing UFC Fighter Matt Brown, a MusclePharm success story, with a new vehicle and the tools he needs to succeed in competition.
The Downtown Denver Partnership creatively plans, manages and develops Downtown Denver as the unique, diverse, vibrant and economically healthy urban core of the Rocky Mountain Region. Schomp Automotive believes strongly in continuing to foster the breadth and diversity of our urban landscape, and is excited to see what our partnership brings in the new year.
Based in our hometown of Littleton, Arapahoe Community College (ACC) is one of Colorado’s top-rated community campuses. Each semester, ACC offers thousands of students quality programs to help them achieve careers in specialized categories. Recently, Schomp donated a BMW X5 to ACC’s Automotive Technology Program, which allows hands-on experience towards preparation for post-graduation technician jobs.
Schomp BMW, Colorado’s leading luxury dealership, has kicked off 2016 by partnering with Colorado’s leading luxury real estate firm LIV Sotheby’s. With support and branding from world-renowned Sotheby’s International Realty and a strong focus on tailored client service and top-end product, LIV Sotheby’s is an ideal match for Schomp BMW’s product and culture.
2015 Continued Schomp BMW’s partnership with Colorado-based swim and triathlon shop Kompetitive Edge. Our dealership provided the shop with a BMW X5 which acts as a support vehicle for 20-30 race events per year. In May, Kompetitive Edge partnered with Wish for Wheels, an organization which builds and delivers bicycles to children in need.
For the 2015/2016 season, BMW was named the official luxury vehicle of the Denver Broncos. Beginning in August, Schomp BMW began celebrating with interactive fan events including Von Miller, Emmanuel Sanders, and other key Broncos players. On display at Sports Authority Field were an all-electric BMW i3 and a sporty BMW X5.
